12/2010 – Present – DNA Guide – Agile Project & Testing Manager – Virtual
Testing & Project Manager for distributed Development Team using Scrum and the Scrum Framework for DNA visualization software. I’ve specified, deployed and maintained Amazon Web Services for our projects. Manage to tight, start-up budgets and create Test Plans, Cases and Schedules.
7/2010 – 12/2010 – OneRoof, Inc., San Francisco – Agile Project Manager
A Start-up in the world-wide Cyber Cafe space, with the mission of bridging the digital divide in the third world by focusing on Ad’s and Google Ad Sense as revenue model allowing company to give away the software. I was an Executive Referee for CEO and VP of Engineering. Brought Agile (via SCRUM) processes to OneRoof and took team from ad-hock product delivery schedule (sometimes weeks sometimes months) to once a week. OneRoof had a mixture of Web based and Desktop based products utilizing many different technologies from Visual Basic to J2EE and the production deployments are all on VMWare instances.
4/2007 – 6/2010 – Web Designer-Developer & Stock Options Trader
Created in-house web sites, traded Stock Options, was a member of distributed Lean Start-up Evaluation Team and renovated & managed personal rental properties.
9/2002 – 4/2007 – IT Project Manager – Autodesk Inc. – San Rafael, California
I worked with every group, division and location at Autodesk, Back Office, Development and IT to help define, identify, specify, purchase, setup and manage their software and hardware projects. Typical project load was 15 active projects in 7-10 countries. Wrote or facilitated the creation of Project Plans and Schedules. Lead meetings, tracked budgets, produced reports, communicated status up and down the food chain.
6/2000 – 9/2002 – QA & Engineering Manager & Project Manager – Location Based Services - Autodesk Inc. – San Rafael, California
Manager of Build & Release, Development & Deployment Tools, Server Test Farms (2), and Agile Development Methodologies Evangelist for the Location Services division. Lead bleeding edge J2EE & J2ME wireless projects for wireless service providers; Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile and others. I also got to create my third and largest testing and compatibility lab at Autodesk.
4/1997 – 6/2000 – Senior QA Manager GIS Division – Autodesk Inc. – San Rafael, California
I managed 40 plus people in QA and Build & Release teams in South Africa, Canada and California working on AutoCAD based applications and the web/server suite of applications MapGuide. This was a giant flat team and I spent my first 2 months evaluating the team members and arranged them in a management structure that remained in place until the company split the division into 2 groups in 2000. Procured QA software tools, developed QA procedures and established quality assurance methodologies/standards in order to clarify the quality objectives of the organization. Created my second testing and compatibility lab at Autodesk.
3/1996 – 4/1997 – QA Manager AEC Division - Autodesk Inc. – San Rafael, California
Created staffed and trained the first Quality and Testing Team and Test Lab for the Autodesk AEC Division. Including testing of the first Faceted Modeler to be included in AutoCAD and shipped the first AutoCAD based product for the AEC. I then successfully transferred the entire team and myself to the GIS Division when a major acquisition was completed.
4/1991 – 1/1996 – Symantec – Novato, California
QA Manager – Lead Quality Assurance Engineers on multiple projects for the Project Management division (TimeLine) of Symantec. Wrote Test Plans, Cases and Schedules. Worked as a Quality Assurance Analyst and Engineer on multiple releases of TimeLine and TimeLine related products. Created, staffed and trained first Technical and Customer Support Team for the new Symantec spin-off company TimeLine.
